Synesthesia - crosswires that make people super cool

What is synesthesia?
Well I didn't know much about it up until a few weeks ago, when I really started to look into it, and I have to say, its a lot.

Let me drop the wiki definition here:

"Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway."

So basically, its people who can see music and taste words and stuff like that. When I first read about it, it sounded fake. But then I fell in the TED Talks rabbit hole and I relised it was actually real, so I went to the library and I found this book:
The Hidden Sense : Synesthesia in Art and Science - Cretien Van Cmpen - 2007

Unfortunatley I didn't really find out much didn't alredy know so it wasn't much use, but I did find out about an american artists Melissa McCracken who paints the songs she listens to.

The embedding doesn't work here, despite my multiple efforts, so here are a few of her works, and a link to a very brief video that illustrates the kind of work that she does.

She's super cool.

Here's the video.

I would like to contact her at some point to talk about her synesthesia, but I'm not sure if she'll get back to me. I'll try anyway.
